I recently traveled to NYC to visit one of my best friends, Tyler, and we decided to take a little weekend trip to Atlantic City while I was there. I had never been to Atlantic City, so I was excited to see what the “East Coast Vegas” had to offer. We stayed at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, which is very close to the boardwalk and has its own casino, resort-style pool, and numerous restaurants.
We had a suite in the Atrium Tower, which was very spacious, and the building itself was quiet and felt separate from the bustle of the casino. The hotel room was very clean and the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable. We felt right at home while staying there.
One of my favorite things about Harrah’s Atlantic City was the huge indoor pool and hot tubs. The pool area is under a glass dome so there’s plenty of natural sunlight and it’s a perfect 82 degrees year-round. We did have some overcast weather and rain while we were there, so the pool was the perfect escape!
It wouldn’t be a visit to Harrah’s without trying our luck at the casino! There were tons of different games to play: slot machines, poker, roulette, craps, and more. I didn’t win anything, but Tyler came out with about $60! The casino area of the hotel was buzzing at all hours, and we had a ton of fun each night we were there.
Gordon Ramsay Steak Review
We had the opportunity to try Gordon Ramsay Steak during our stay, which was just a short walk from our hotel room. I’ve always liked steak, but I’ve never thought of myself as a ‘steak person’ – until I tried Gordon Ramsay Steak! The entire experience was very high class and luxurious, from the restaurant decor, to the service. Our waiter was very friendly and brought around a display with all of the different cuts of steak and explained each one to us.
I decided on the New York Strip and Tyler went with the Beef Wellington (a Hell’s Kitchen classic!). The meal started off with a selection of bread, each of which was delicious. I chose the French 76 to drink, which is a champagne cocktail with elderflower. Very tasty!
We ordered the mac and cheese and fingerling potatoes as sides, which were both divine. The steak was perfectly tender and is by far the best steak I have ever had in my life. I am drooling just thinking about it! For dessert, we chose the cheesecake, but our waiter also convinced us to try to sticky toffee pudding (Gordon’s mom’s recipe). Both were fantastic! I honestly can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. If I ever come back to Atlantic City, I am definitely coming here again!
All in all, we had a great weekend away in Atlantic City. I highly recommend staying at Harrah’s Resort if you decide to make AC your next travel destination. Have you ever been to Atlantic City? Tell me about your experience in the comments below!
